Adapt your house for the boomerang generation

Adapt your house for the boomerang generation

There has been a major change to family life and it’s s happened shockingly fast. In 1997, around 25% of under-34s were living in their parents’ home, according to the Office for National Statistics. Today the figure is 32%. For men, it’s even higher ……. 37% of men aged 18 to 34 lived with their parents in 2017!

Add this to the statistics that in 2016, there were 11.8 million UK residents aged 65 years and over, representing 18% of the total population – 25 years before, there were 9.1 million, accounting for 15.8% of the population.

By far the cheapest way to adapt and cope with this phenomena is to change the layout and / or extend you house so that you make a comfortable multi generational home that is beneficial and keeps the sanity of all the family members.
