Check with the relevant planning department if planning permission is required. Some properties can be converted under PDM’s.

check if hte building is listed or a leasehold.

the costs and stampd duty process is similar to buying a normal residential property.

if funding is required decide of you need a bridging loan or a self build mortgage – a good mortgage advisor will work out which is most suitable for each particular case.

always work out your budget with a contingency amount of at least 10% – I would always allow 15% to be sure.
